Before you do something hasty and go for your csl plasma card in order to gain extra money, there are certainly other ways that you can adapt your spending behavior in order to make adjustments and free up extra money each month. It’s amazing how quickly money goes, from getting your paycheck, to paying your monthly bills, and then hopefully saving, there probably isn’t much left for spending, so it’s important how you handle every dollar that enters, and leaves, your bank account.
Cut the Cable Cord
It’s a popular trend you are probably hearing more and more people doing these days, especially with the rise in streaming services such as Netflix, not to mention all the network and cable shows that you probably DVR and don’t watch live anyways, it really makes you wonder if you even need to still pay a hundred or two a month on cable. Sure, you’ve probably grown up with it and it’s a fixture in your house, but times and tastes change and maybe it’s time to get rid of cable, get an HD antenna to still get network channels, and opt for only a streaming service or two for a fraction of the price.
Avoid Going Out to Eat
As you look to continue to cut expenses, some sacrifices will need to be made, and it’s not always easy. Unless you have a steady flow of money coming in every month where spending has no limit, getting ahead takes patience and discipline. One area that, if cut, could save hundreds of dollars a month and that is going out to eat. Sure, it takes more work to prepare meals at home, but by avoiding going out to lunch, taking the family out to dinner, getting carryout, even getting coffee in the morning, adds up quickly and could easily be avoided with a change in lifestyle, and healthier I might add.
Use the Right Credit Card
I still hear about some people being scared of using credit cards, and while that may be for good reason on those that have had spending problems in the past and is best to stay away from using, for the remainder, as long as you can pay the full statement balance by the due date, credit cards can actually make good financial sense, especially if you’re using the right card. With so much competition out there these days, as long as your credit score continues to rise, you should have no problem picking the card with the best APR, no annual fees, and the maximum cashback rewards that you can find.
Look for the Best Price
It used to be that if you wanted to compare prices for products you would have to drive all over town, and at the end of the day you wasted gas, and your entire day, trying to save a few bucks, so at the end of all of that, was it really worth it? These days we are fortunate enough to be able to go from website to website in a matter of seconds, so you never have to click “purchase” until you have found the best deal.
